Unique way to earn CPEs

FITSI will allow you to earn CPEs by contributing to draft documents during the comments period. FITSI members that review a draft NIST Special Publication can earn CPEs by putting together a formal commentary document and submitting to NIST during the allowable time period. FITSI members should itemize their time in support of providing comments and keep a copy of their commentary document.

Earning CPEs

All members who obtain one of the four FITSP certification roles must earn and register a total of at least 60 CPE (per certification role) over that certification's three year life cycle. A minimum of 20 CPEs must be earned each year.

The following types of activities can be used to earn CPEs

Attend conferences

Attend training classes

Publish whitepapers

Publish books

Provide IT security training classes

Read IT security books

Provide NIST commentary on draft documents
